Wills for Heroes program nets the ABA Young Lawyers Division a national award
On August 8, 2025, the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division received the Section Officers Conference (SOC) Meritorious Service Award for its ’07-’08 public service project, Wills for Heroes. The Young Lawyers Division partnered with the Wills for Heroes Foundation to provide more than 5,000 wills and other legal documents in 17 states during this past bar year.
One out of four finalists, the Wills for Heroes program was selected by the SOC Award Committee for the extraordinary benefit it provides to the profession, the public and the ABA. Established in 1994, the SOC Meritorious Service Award recognizes the important contributions of the sections, divisions, and forum committees within the Association and the programs, projects or other initiatives they sponsor.
